On Tuesday, February 10th 2011, the Bureau of the Foundation hosted lunch at the Polis Hotel in the center of Athens, to Metropolitan Akkras Georgios, Representative & Director of the Athens Office of the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Mr. Theodoros II.
During the meeting, the situation of Egypt and especially of the Greeks living there was discussed. The Foundation’s Scientific Supervisor Mr. Athanasios Agelopoulos and the President of the Foundation, Mr. Stavros Panousopoulos, briefed the guest on the developments of the Program and the forthcoming Worldwide Congress organized by the Foundation in Athens on the 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th of July 2011.
With particular interest, the Metropolitan listened to the developments and prospects of the Foundation, while in the end, after congratulating the Bureau for the national work they carried out, he expressed the wish of the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Mr. Theodoros II, to honor the Bureau of the Foundation for its 17-year contribution to the Homeland and Orthodoxy. He also proposed a specific date, for the 8th of May 2011. With gratitude, joy and honor, the Bureau accepted, but jointly decided, due to the specificity of the situation in Egypt, to confirm the above date in the future.
