Melathron Ecumenical Hellenism, particularly delighted and moved, has welcomed the approval and inclusion of the publication “Hellenic Treasures around the World” in the catalogue of recommended books for the enrichment of school libraries by the Department of the Secondary General Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Cypriot Democracy.
In the letter of approval of our publication, the Ministry notes, among other things, that in the present publication, some of the masterpieces of the Ancient Greek sculpture which are located in three of the most well-known museums of Europe (the Louvre, the British Museum, the Museum of Berlin) are presented.
Further down, it is mentioned that “those masterpieces were once removed from their natural environment and transferred away from Greece” and that “through the bitterness for the expatriation of these treasures of Greece, emerges the high pride of the Greek spirit constantly radiating to the reaches of the earth, through the morals and beauty the ancient Greeks instilled in their creations”.
The letter concludes, mentioning that “this book is a valuable tool for students and teachers. A book that is scientifically proven and plainly expressed and printed in all those languages”.
On behalf of the President, Mr. Stavros Panousopoulos, and the affiliates of Melathon Ecumenical Hellenism, we express our gratitude for the praising words and we promise that we will try to make what follows, to be equally worthy.
