On April 7th, 2022, at 10:00 p.m., at the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus, the Archbishop of Cyprus, His Excellence, Chrysostomos, welcomed the president of the Ecumenical Hellenism Foundation, Mr. Stavros Panousopoulos. The meeting lasted an hour, and in an particularly emotional climate, His Excellence listened attentively to the president explaining the program of international update on Ammochostos which he blessed, promising also to offer every possible assistance. Then, although still recovering, moving with his “Cadillac” as he characterized his support, he spoke of his concerns about our national issues, as well as of his personal experiences of dealing with especially serious matters. Although at the age of 81, as he confessed, his words, clarity, and sensitivity could be matched to a 30-year-old man’s.
Upon concluding the meeting, the President expressed his thanks to him, gave him the volume of Ammochostos, and wished him well on his return in time for this year’s Resurrection of Jesus, as well as for the 20 Resurrections that are to be followed.
