1821-2021. Two hundred years have been completed since the Greek War of Independence and the inauguration of the Greek state’s independent course. This anniversary has been the trigger of concern of many kinds in relation to the past, the present, and the future of the nation. The accurate and round knowledge of historical facts is a priority in any kind of study and deduction of conclusions about the present and the future, especially when it refers to the emblematic event of the Greek Palingenesis.

Description

The Ecumenical Hellenism Foundation has assumed the initiative to create a publication to present the protagonists of the Greek War of Independence, some of which are already known but others, quite many, unknown to the wider public. 193 personalities; clerics, armatoloi and klephts, politicians, men of the letters, benefactors and philhellenes, who constituted the pillars of the Revolution are presented in this publication along with extended photographic material. The publication is the result of research of many years, study and cross-referencing of historical personalities of the time of the War, and aspires to be a valuable handbook for every type of reader.
