Greetings from the President of Cypriot Democracy Mr. Nicos Anastasiades for the event of Melathron Ecumenical Hellenism on the 24th of June 2019 in Cyprus

  • Post category:NEWS

It is with great pleasure that I greed the anniversary event that Melathron Ecumenical Hellenism is holding this year on our island, as a part of a rich and praiseworthy activity that it develops, remaining loyal to the fulfillment of the goals and aims that are imposed by its foundation and mission, over time.

Goals and aims, that, concentrated on the one hand, on the distribution of the rich history and culture of our Nation and on the other, on the empowerment of the relations with the expatriated Hellenism, contribute the maximum to the protection of our national and religious identity.

Towards this direction, the initiative that Melathron has taken recently, by publishing the two-volume work, “History of Cyprus”, is perceived as of great importance by the Hellenism of Cyprus. A work in which, through the thorough and established research of eight respected University Professors, under the scientific supervision of Professor Savvas Neokleous, a comprehensive and objective reading of all the incidents that defined the political, cultural, social, religious, and economical course of Cyprus is allowed.

I am seizing this opportunity to congratulate Mrs. Mimi Denisi and Mr. Georgios Christofidis, for their highly honorable proclamation to High Commissioners of Melathron, as well as the sum of the distinctive personalities of Cyprus, to whom the “Golden Wreath” is being rewarded, in the context οf the recognition of their great and exemplary contribution, utterly ordered to the service of Melathron’s goals.

Concluding, I would like to warmly praise the President and the sum of country people, Members of Melathron Ecumenical Hellenism, whose actions empower the effort and struggle we put for the discovery of a peaceful, fair and sustainable resolution regarding the Cyprus dispute, which will secure the territorial stability and the ultimate domination of our homeland and ensure conditions of security and prosperity for all the legal residents.

Nicos Anastasiades
